Clifford T. Piontkowski
Clifford T. “Cliff” Piontkowski, age 90, a 53 year resident of Pennsauken, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015.
He was born to the late John and Sophia (nee Krajewski) Piontkowski In Philadelphia PA.
Cliff graduated from Milton J. Hersey Industrial School in 1942 as an electrician.
He proudly served in the United States Army 100th Division 397 Infantry Regiment in both France and Germany and was Honorably Discharged in 1946.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from St. Joseph’s University in 1953 and his Master’s Degree in Accounting from Temple University in 1956.
He was a loyal alumnus and supporter of all three institutions.
Cliff worked in the public sector for both RCA and later at General Electric as a cost accountant in the Missle and Space Vehicle Department.
He served in the public sector as an accountant for the Division of Urban Renewal of the City of Camden and retired as the Deputy Director of the Housing Authority of the City of Camden.
For many years Cliff served as a volunteer for both his church and community.
He called bingo, served on the financial committee, was a lector, counter, and trustee at St. Cecilia and St. Veronica Churches.
He served as the chairman of the Thursday panel of the Camden County Child Placement Review Board and also volunteered as a member of Pennsauken’s Housing Authority.
Cliff had a deep love and devotion to his family and always was involved in what they were doing whether it be managing a PYAA team to timing and score keeping at either Meadowbrook Swim Club or Jersey Wahoos.
Cliff enjoyed golfing and was a former member of the Pennsauken Country Club.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Piontkowski (nee Glander), his brother, John Piontkowski and his brother and sister-in-law Albert and Dolores Glander.
Cliff is survived by his children, Eileen (Larry) Egan, Thomas (Carol) Piontkowski, grandchildren Ryan (Victoria) Egan, Kyle (Ashley) Egan, Thomas, Adam, and Laura Piontkowski great-grandchildren Andrew, Spencer and Margaret Egan. sister Dolores (Michael)Pacana, sister-in-law Rose Piontkowski and several loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 9:30am-11am at Mary, Queen of All Saints Church (formerly St. Cecilia’s), located at 4828 Camden Ave., Pennsauken, NJ 08110.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am.
Cliff will be laid to rest beside his loving wife at Bethel Cemetery in Pennsauken.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cliff’s memory to St. Joseph’s University, Rita and Joseph Nardi Scholarship Fund or Amigos De Jesus , Malvern PA .
