Cornelius “Pat” Hennessy, 60, of Palmyra passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born November 15, 1955 in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Cornelius, Sr. and Helen M. (Smith) Hennessy and was also preceded in death by his brother Arthur C. Hennessy. He was a retired shift operator for the Swatara Township Municipal Authority.

A member since 2007 and current President of Palmyra Borough Council, he was Vice President of Palmyra 250th Anniversary and a member of Palmyra Area Recreation and Parks Commission. Pat was a member of Milton Hershey School Alumni Association, Derry Township Historical Society and the Water Environment Federation.

Surviving are his wife Monica (Vucenic) Hennessy; daughter Heather, wife of Scott Coy; step-son Damein Cope; sister Helen, wife of Marvin Smith; grandchildren Jazmyn, Jaylynn, Dakota, Jyllian, Camden and Bryson; several nieces; and a nephew.

A Time of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
