Fredrick E. Hand
Fredrick E. Hand, 80 years, of Allentown, PA, passed away on December 18, 2012 in the Phoebe Home.
He was born January 23, 1932 in New Bloomfield, PA to James J. and Ruth (Eisenacher) Hand.
He was a graduate from Milton Hershey School in 1949 and attended Penn State University. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1955, Sgt. in Special Services. He worked in construction and was retired from Bechtel Corp. in 1995.
Fred loved his family, reading, and stamp collecting.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Allentown, where he was a former Eucharistic minister and lector-member of Malvern Retreat Holy Name Soc. and American Legion.
Survivors: Fred is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Catherine (Jermano) Hand; sons, Antonio Hand and wife, Shannon, of Oak Harbor, OH and Matthew Hand of Allentown; brother, John J. Hand and wife, Barbara, of Millsboro, DE; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brother, James; son, James Hand Jr.; and an infant son.
Services: A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi at a later date and burial will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery, New Bloomfield, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport, PA.
