Louis A. Croce
Louis A. Croce, 84, died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Abington Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hazleton, PA, Louis graduated from the Milton Hershey School and subsequently attended Millersville College. He was a football and basketball player at each institution. Later, he graduated from Trenton State College with a master’s degree, plus 30 credits in education. He lived most of his life in the Ewing Township-Trenton area. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Louis taught industrial arts for the Pennsbury School District for 35 years.
He was an avid golfer, and he was an inventor who loved to build things in his shop. He enjoyed the symphony, and traveled throughout the United States and internationally. He was an especially loving and devoted family man.
Son of the late Louis and Dana DeBello Croce, he is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Zavatsky; one son, Stephen Croce and his wife, Susan; three grandchildren, Alexandra, Jake and Erin; one sister-in-law, Jennie Croce; his nieces, Diane and Cynthia, and great-niece, Christa, and great-nephew, Eli Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 44 Bridge St., Lambertville. Burial will be at a later date at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N Franklin St. Lambertville, NJ 08530 (609) 397-2763.
