Edward M. Berzowski
Edward M. Berzowski, 65, of Duncott, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 24, at his residence.
Born in Pottsville, Sept. 17, 1951, he was a son of the late Julia Bergan and Edward Berzowski. He was a member of the former St. Kieran Church, Heckscherville. He was a high school graduate and of Philco-Ford Technical School, Philadelphia. He served in the Army.
Ed was a long haul truck driver and was an avid NASCAR and local stock car enthusiast. His racing involvement dates back to 1973 as a crew member for the racing teams of Charlie Sorokach and Kenny Renninger to name a few. In later years, he was the crew chief and owner of cars that were driven by his son, Marc, who amassed 20 victories through the years. He was a member of the Independent Hose Company and a member of the New Minersville Fire House Bikers motorcycle club.
Ed is survived by a daughter, Lynn M. Becker; two sons, Marc and Erik Berzowski; grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville. All are welcomed to attend a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Kieran No. 2 Cemetery. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
