John Grimes III

John J. Grimes III, 68, died Friday, July 30th at his home in Belleville of natural causes. John was born March 5, 1953 in Wilmington, Delaware to John J. Grimes, Jr. and Norma Watson Grimes.

He graduated from the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and studied Electronics Engineering at the Ohio Institute of Technology in Columbus. John worked in HVAC in California and Illinois. He was an avid chess player, and was well known for his sense of humor.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Roger, Brian and Gaar (Norman) Grimes. John is survived by cousins Linda Lunbeck of Colorado, Janis Oppenheimer of Delaware, and several other cousins; sister-in-law Janice Grimes of British Columbia (Canada); and his ex-wife Connie Felix Grimes of Belleville. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
