Russell E. Lord
Russell E. Lord, 67 of Honesdale died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at home.
Born November 8, 1944 in Callicoon, NY he was the son of the late Myron and Permelia Conklin Lord. He was a graduate of the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Later he joined the Pennsylvania National Guard. Russ began working at George W. Kinsman Inc. in parts and sales and later Roche Supply in Callicoon, NY. He also worked at Krempasky Equipment and retired from Fowlers Gas Station where he was a manager.
Russell enjoyed traveling to North Carolina to visit friends and fish.
Surviving are his sons Anthony Lord and wife Kari of Keller, TX and Jason Lord and wife Kelly of Wilkes-Barre; daughters Dawn Defrehn of Newfoundland and Christine Lord of Honesdale; step-daughter Lisa Layden; sisters Gladys Enslin and husband Joe and Ruth Blaine all of Waymart; a brother-in-law John Hanson with whom he resided; grandchildren Addie, Olivia, Mackenzie, Aiden and Zeta Lord, Xavier Eccles, Todd Seitz, Andy Dixon, Amanda, Alyssa and Taylor Layden; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-son Thomas Layden; brothers Billy and Bobby Lord, Ernest and Elvin Grey; sisters Estella Jennings, Ella Mills, Eleanor Every, Ethel Skinner and Evelyn Hanson.
As per his request, cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, Tenth St. in Honesdale at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12 to service time.
