Robert P. Tanzola
Robert Peter Tanzola, 65, of Irwin, Pa. died Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born Aug. 24, 1952, in Philadelphia, a son of Patricia Paris (Cavounis) Berenato and the late Robert Charles Tanzola. He was employed in hospitality for years, self-employed, and then worked for the Ritz Carlton, KOA and many others throughout his career. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, in Irwin.
Bobby was a loving, caring and protective husband to his wife, Kathleen (Rylander) Sarniak-Tanzola. He is survived by two children, Robert and Tanner Tanzola, both of Medford, N.J.; stepson, Theodore Sarniah, of Greensburg; a grandson, Theodore Sarniah V; brother, Craig Tanzola and wife, Kathleen, of New Jersey; sister, Ellen Johnson and husband, David, of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Bobby enjoyed life to the fullest and was dearly loved by his family and friends. He was an avid cook, sharing his incredible recipes with all. Bobby loved and enjoyed his Philadelphia sports teams; the Eagles winning the Super Bowl was his longest awaited victory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donation be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania, 5432 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
Friends will be received 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
