Richard W. Garrison
Richard W. Garrison ,age 84, of Banner Elk passed away on November 26, 2014 at Life Care Center of Banner Elk.
A native of Pennsylvania, he was born January 14, 1930 a son of the late William and Grace Savitz Garrison.
Dick proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1973.
He worked for many years i Banner Elk and Avery County as the Owner and Operator of Garrison Appliance.
He was a social man who enjoyed being with friends and family.
He was a Layman for the Banner Elk United Methodist Church.
Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his: Wife, France Rose Garrison; brother, William; sisters, June, Joyce, and Janet.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory a daughter, Carlene Garrison, and her husband, Reinie Vos, of Banner Elk; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Banner Elk Methodist Church beginning at 2:00 pm. Words of comfort and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at .Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home of Newland is serving the Garrison family.
