Richard K. Phillips
Richard K. Phillips, 85, of Lower Burrell, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011.
Born Jan. 23, 1926, in Lancaster, he graduated from the Milton Hershey School and then served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Phillips was an executive housekeeper for various hospitals in Southern California for 40 years.
He resided in Lower Burrell the past five years.
An avid gardener and fisherman, he also enjoyed woodworking and especially making blanket chests.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Betty J. Borror Phillips; four sons, Richard K. (Linda) Phillips Jr., of Bedford, Texas, Robert R. (Miriam “Mim”) Phillips, of Amsterdam, Holland, Thomas Lee (Donna) Phillips, of Alford, Texas, and Paul (Keri) Phillips, of Palm Springs, Calif.; stepchildren, Timothy (Linda) McClung, of Sparks, Nev., Kimberly A. (William) Kelley, of Arnold, Wendy J. (Kim) Schacher, of Allegheny Township, and Brad (Gerrie) McClung, of Lake Bay, Wash.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter, Gracie.
Private visitation and services were held in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, 724-335-1234.
Private burial will be in the Little Britain Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Fulton Township, Lancaster County.
