MIFFLINTOWN – Paul F. Barton, 78, of Mifflintown, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Sept. 19, 1929, in Port Royal, he was a son of the late Robert Franklin Barton and Maude Ellen (Pannebaker) Barton Taylor and the step-son of the late William C. Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, LaRue (Coldren) Barton, whom he married May 16, 1952; two children, Thomas W. Barton and wife, Paula, of Annville, and Judy Kauffman and husband, Norman, of Penfield; two sisters, Mary Diven, of Chambersburg, and Betty Hostler and husband, Robert, of RR 3, Mifflintown, and two grandchildren, Tracy Rayadi and husband, Jerry, and Jennifer Kauffman.

He attended Milton Hershey Industrial School and graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1947. He served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952. He worked as a plumber and electrician and then as an Estimator Coordinator at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle. He was a member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church and Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM.

His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Pine Grove UM Church with Rev. Joy Hulslander officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.

The family will provide all flowers and requests that memorial contributions be made to Pine Grove UM Church, RR 1 Box 792, Mifflintown, PA 17059. Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown has care of the arrangements
