Millard E. Horton
Millard E. Horton Sr., 90, of Wellsboro, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at home. He was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Altoona, the son of Charles and Kathryn Link Horton.
Millard was the retired owner of ABC Gaines and a World War II Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Cassin Young, now in Boston Harbor as part of the National Park Service. He was a member of the D.A.V. and the Wellsboro American Legion.
Millard is survived by his wife, the former Joanne Nugent; a daughter, Wanda Lynn Gosnell of Dover, Pa.; a son, Millard Horton Jr., of Red Lion; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three step-sons, Steven Kenyon of O’Fallon, Ill., David Kenyon of Middlebury, Vt., Bruce Kenyon of Wellsboro; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Craig. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Gray Cemetery, Covington. Sympath”e” cards may be sent to Millard’s family at

He knew Milton Hershey and told me many wonderful stories of his upbringing at the Hershey school. I know he would want to thank Hershey for the wonderful life that Hershey helped him achieve he now belongs to the ages and his dreams live on in me.
