Jerry P. Hoopes, 74, of Swatara Twp., passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Spring Creek Rehab and Health Center.

He was born August 11, 1942 in Glen Burnie, MD to the late Paul and Ruth (McCracken) Hoopes. Jerry graduated from Milton Hershey High School; was a member of the Central PA Teamsters Union; and had a love for classic cars.

Surviving are son Michael Hoopes of Harrisburg; sisters Sharon Gaudinsky of Middletown and Pat Wertz of Marysville; and many nieces and nephews.

Including his parents, also preceding him in death are brother Bob Line and sister Elizabeth Waterman.

A memorial service will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 at 1 PM at Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Interment will be private at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
