George I. Keightly died Monday, Jan.4, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Keightly was an original Levittown resident.

He was a current member of the Oxford Valley Chapel in Levittown, and previously was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. While a member at Calvary Baptist Church, Mr. Keightly served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and as a captain for the Boys Brigade.

Mr. Keightly attended the Milton Hershey School and Rider University. He was employed with Princeton Printing, the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, Bucks County Courier Times, and was a teacher at the Bucks County Tech School. Mr. Keightly enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Korean War.

Mr. Keightly was preceded in death by his son, James P. Keightly. Beloved husband of 62 years to Corinne (Martin), Mr. Keightly was the loving father of George I. Jr. (Cindy) of Ontario, Canada; David R. of Fairless Hills; and Amy Tomalin of Levittown.

He was the grandfather of Brandi Rose Mauro, Heather Keightly, Daniel James and Drew Alec Tomalin; and great-grandfather of Anthony, Chase, Brayden and Isabella. Mr. Keightly will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 until 12:30 p.m. Friday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be held privately. Memorial contributions in Mr. Keightly’s name may be made to the Oxford Valley Chapel, 198 Bristol Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19056.
