George “Tiny” D. Klinefelter, age 69, of Keil Street, North Tonawanda, entered into rest on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.

Born in Renovo, PA on August 7, 1938 to George W. and Quarella Klinefelter. He played college football in Hershey, PA. George was employed as a tire builder at Dunlop Tire in Tonawanda for 35 years.

He was a member of the Niagara Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and wood working.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Shirley A. (Carncross) Klinefelter; seven children, Todd (Lisa) Hakes, Michael Hakes, Bruce Hakes, Nick (Amy) Hakes and Michael Klinefelter, all of North Tonawanda, Ellen (Sonny) Ridgeway of Tonawanda and Tammy (Billy) Cain of GA; a sister, Norma Jean Mettler of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Kenny (Iva) Klinefelter of PA and Robert Klinefelter of Niagara Falls;eighteen grandchildren, Michelle, Jennifer, Monica, Josh, Billy, Dallas, Bruce Jr., Brittany, Mike, Erin, Miranda, Madeline, Lauren, Kadie, Michael Jr., Eric, Monica and David;several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one child, Terry Hakes.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Sunday at 3:00 PM with Kenny Klinefelter officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart and Lung Association.
