David Franklin Frederick passed away at home on July 28, 2013 at the age of 61.

He is the son of Barbara Frederick of Guard Hill and the late Royce Frederick of Waterlick. In addition to his mother, David is survived by siblings, Susan Lee (Tommy), R.L. Frederick (Michele), Deborah Frederick; five nieces and nephews; and six great nieces and nephews.

David graduated with honors from Milton Hershey High School in June 1970. He was a National Merit Semi-Finalist. Upon graduation he attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a major in engineering.

David was an avid reader who also enjoyed gardening, metalworking, and woodwork, spending time thoroughly researching all elements of any venture undertaken.

The family will receive visits from friends at his brother R.L.’S home during the day on Saturday, August 3, 2013 between 2-6 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601. Arrangements are by Maddox Funeral Home, Inc. in Front Royal.
