Michael E. Schwartz

Michael E. Schwartz ’90, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Dec. 2, 2024.

Michael Eugene Schwartz, born April 3,1972, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away December 2, 2024.

He was a graduate of Milton Hershey High School, Class of 1990.

He was also a college graduate from Hagerstown Community College, Class of 2019.

Michael served in the United States Army 82nd airborne at Fort Brag in Fayetteville NC.

He was a member of post 239, and a member and helper of Smithsburg Little Sluggers.

He served on the Smithsburg town council and attended church as much as possible, going to multiple churches within his community.

Michael had been living with an underlying disease from 18 years ago, which he doubled his life expectancy because he never gave up. Michael enjoyed his family and friends, when he was around you knew it, from cracking dad jokes, to preaching scripture, to telling you you’re wrong because he was always right.

He enjoyed watching sports, being an Orioles and Ravens fan it was tough at times, but he enjoyed going to games with friends and family.

Michael was proceeded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Wilson, Biological father, Fred McClure, Adopted father, Rev. Dr. Gary Schwartz Sr., and stepfather, Lloyd Wilson.

Michael is survived by his son, Cody Schwartz, daughter in law, Kari Schwartz, 5 grandkids, Marlee, Liam, Brycen, Brooklyn, and Righlee, brothers, Tony Wilson and Gary Eugene Schwartz, sisters, Michelle Fogal, and Abby Gruver, and many cousins, uncles and aunts.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1:00-3:00pm, at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg, MD, Funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm, officiated by pastor John & Melissa Miller.

Family and friends are welcome to join celebrate for life for dinner after at The American Legion post 239.
