Staff & Retiree Obituaries 2014-16

Lou Aiello died on Jan. 24, 2015. Lou and his wife, Ruth, were houseparents from February 1993 through October 2014.

Oriana Battles died on Aug. 15, 2015. Oriana began employment with Milton Hershey School on January 9, 1978 and retired August 1, 1996. Oriana was a houseparent.

James E. Buchmoyer died on Oct. 11, 2015. James was employed as an athletics assistant at the school.

Sara Cohen died on May 28, 2016. Sara was employed as a houseparent at the school from July 29, 1996 to Aug. 1, 2000.

Juan Cotto died on Aug. 28, 2015. Juan began employment with Milton Hershey School on August 28, 1985 and retired August 1, 1995. Juan worked in Agriculture, Farming.

Priscilla Dearwechter died on Oct. 22, 2016. Priscilla worked at MHS from Aug. 13, 2001 to Aug. 31, 2004. She was a custodian.

Alfred “Al” S. Dugan died on June 8, 2015. Al began his career at MHS on June 15, 1960, as an agricultural teacher. He later worked on the Agriculture Business Farm until he retired on Aug. 1, 1990.

John Gallo died on Feb. 29, 2016. He was a retired houseparent.

Simon L. Hoffer, Jr. died on May 9, 2016. He retired from Milton Hershey School with 40 years of service as a houseparent, farmer, and maintenance staff member.

Brenda Kline died on April 21, 2016. Brenda began employment with MHS in 1983 and retired in 2000 as a houseparent.

Adam Light died away on June 8, 2015. Adam began employment with Milton Hershey School on April 21, 1938 and retired June 1, 1998. Adam worked on the Agriculture Business as Shop Manager.

Newt Myers died on April 25, 2015.

Dalphine Pavone died in the summer of 2016. She was a retired employee of the Milton Hershey School and an associate member of the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association.

August C. “Gus” Schilling died on May 31, 2015. August retired as a houseparent with 27 years of service from Milton Hershey School and was also an Honorary Alumnus.

Evelyn Marie Schmidlin Skinner died on Jan. 15, 2014. For fourteen years she and her late husband, Joe, were houseparents and maintained contact with numerous “boys” during their lives.

Agnes M. Souders died on May 9, 2016. She taught for 38 years in Lebanon and Dauphin counties, retiring from Milton Hershey School in 1986.

Clyde Stough died on Oct. 22, 2015. Clyde began employment as a houseparent on Aug. 21, 1968, and retired on Sept. 1, 1986.

Charles Miller Wolgemuth died on Jan. 25, 2015 at the Hershey Medical Center at the age of 103. He and his wife, Mary, were houseparents at Milton Hershey School from 1936 to 1946 at Englewood. Charles retired as a Senior Vice President and board member of HERCO.
